We are very excited to announce that 12 Helen O Grady Drama Academy students who also belong to Aardvark Casting are starring in a short film called 'All's Fair' this weekend!
The movie was written by Jon Broeke and is produced and directed by Pia Van Rensburg, producer of Karate Kallie and Slam Bang!
Four of our talented students are the main characters and the remaining seven are the extras who make up the class - the movie is set at a school ... The bell rings and break starts, but COLIN and GAVIN don’t leave the room. Instead they look around suspiciously before pulling out a notebook and opening it on an elaborate plan pencilled onto the paper, but to what end? World domination? Or at least school field domination? No, the plan is for something even better, even more daunting than control over the playground at school. The plan is to get STEPHANIE, the prettiest, most amazing girl at the school to notice Gavin, and in doing so fall head over heels in love with him.
Step by step they outline their plan until they are ready to set it into motion. Nothing could go wrong, until it does. All at once everything goes wrong, ending with Gavin and Colin’s faces in the mud. At least they got Stephanie’s attention, and as the bell rings to indicate the end of the break she heads back to class with RACHEL. They sit, pull out their own notebook, and turn to their own plan to get Gavin to notice Stephanie. They both sigh, thinking it didn’t work, before turning to a new page to begin planning for the next break.
