Improvisation is the Brooklyn Upper Primary's favourite!!


They also enjoy movement and always use their bodies effectively!

We're going on Safari to see the...

The Lower Primary had such fun on their recent safari...they saw monkeys, springbok and they were even chased by a cheeky ostrich!! Every week these lucky children perform a different play...from the fun fair to meeting greedy Gretel to visiting the animals in the Zoo...there is always something to look forward to at the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy!

These talented students made up their own improvisation under the direction of their teacher Larisa. They portrayed some very interesting characters!

FAERIE GLEN GOES ON SAFARI!

The students from our Faerie Glen Studio had great fun on Monday - with their teacher Larisa, Principal Juliet and one of our new teachers, Chene!! They particularly enjoyed their play today called Going on Safari!

Lyttelton Lower Primary classes take place every Saturday afternoon at the Lyttelton Library!

Our Lyttelton Lower Primary class have so much fun together and they have become good friends! This week one of our students turned 5 and she bought cupcakes for the class!! Happy Birthday to you!

The Circus Has Come to Town!!

The children who take part in our Kindy Programme at First Friends Montesorri School loved their theme this week! They were clowns and their wonderful teacher Larisa was their Ringmaster! Our Kindy Programme is designed for 3-5yr olds and aims to give pre-schoolers confidence & self esteem as well as
skill in verbal communication. Classes help to develop important life skills such as:

listening, sharing, taking turns, following instructions,sequencing & memory skills and vocalising thoughts & emotions.

SAGEWOOD ARTS AND CULTURE FESTIVAL

The students from our Helen O'Grady Drama studio at Sagewood School were asked to partake in the High School's Arts and Culture Festival. Grades 1-3 thoroughly enjoyed their play The Chicken Hearted Fox and our senior primary students (grades 4-7) went all out to make their play Storyland the best ever!!!
Principal and teacher of this studio, Juliet Jordaan, was most impressed with their performance - especially taking into account that they had only had 6hours of rehearsal!!

Lyttelton Manor Library is the venue for Helen O' Grady Drama Academy's Fantastic Drama Classes held on Saturday Afternoons


Saturday afternoon classes at the Library in Lyttelton start from 2-3pm for the 5-8yr olds and 3-4pm for the 9-12yr olds. Many of the children have been attending classes for over a year and it is wonderful to watch them grow in confidence and self esteem!!

Brooklyn Youth Theatre Show off their STYLE!

Teenagers from surrounding schools, such as Crawford Pretoria, Pro Arte Alphen Park, Brooklyn Primary and Tigervalley College, gather on Tuesday evenings from 5-6pm at the Greek Church to show off their creativity and develop their theatre skills!

Through Word of Mouth Our Saddlebrook Studio is Growing...

Our Wednesday class at Saddlebrook Estate is full of creative children who have developed wonderfully in confidence and oral communication over the past few months!!

Drama classes in Faerie Glen take place on Monday Afternoons

The Lower Primary class had such fun dressing up as princesses for their play called The Lumpy Bed!! Afrikaans and English speaking children from schools such as Lynnwood Ridge Primary, Lynwood Laerskool and Garsfontein attend our weekly programme - it is amazing how quickly their language skills develop!

Lindo Park Drama Classes are very popular!!

Students from our Irene studio Performed to Perfection at their Parent Day Presentation!


Our Classes in Irene are held at Irene Primary. Although most of the students come from the school we also have students from Doringkloof and Cornwall Hill College. Our classes develop confidence and oral communication skills. While having lots of fun and making good friends our students are continually learning important life skills!!

What fun the students at our Saddlebrook Studio had on Wednesday when they dressed up as Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses! We run classes exclusively for the residents of Saddlebrook Estate on Wednesday afternoons in the Clubhouse.
