Helen O' Grady Drama classes for ages 9-13yrs at Irene Primary are extremely popular

Many of our Irene Primary students have been doing drama with us on Thursday afternoons since we opened at the school in 2009. This term they are rehearsing for their parent evening in June - which is one of the highlights of the year! Of course nothing beats our end of year production at Centurion Theatre in November!! These students are so lucky to have the amazing Larisa as their teacher!

All the students love to dress up and every second week they have had to bring a prop or dress up for a different activity! It worked brilliantly as the use of props and costume definitely enhances performance!

TERM 4 OFF TO A GREAT START!!!

Welcome back to a very exciting term of productions: Pirate Joe and The Old Woman Who Lived in the Shoe, by the Lower Primary, Circus Capers and The Curse of the Pharaohs, by the Upper Primary and The Triumph of Trevor Truelove our Youth Theatre play. This is a short action-packed term and we have much to accomplish in a very short space of time.  It also affords all our young actors and actresses an opportunity to demonstrate their creative talents in a public arena.

We have started rehearsing for Parent Evening which takes place in early June - the students really are enjoying this years curriculum - which is dynamic and fun!

Irene Upper Primary tackle a challenging play!

The students from our Irene Upper (9-12) Primary come from a variety of schools in the area - Cornwall Hill College, Doringkloof Primary and we have homeschooled children. It is really fantastic for students to mix with a variety of different people from different schools and backgrounds! This year the Upper Primary are tackling a Futuristic play called Maximum Speed : 50 Croaders - the script is challenging and we are so impressed with how well the group is coping! Well Done Irene Upper Primary!

Our Classes in Irene are held at Irene Primary. Although most of the students come from the school we also have students from Doringkloof and Cornwall Hill College. Our classes develop confidence and oral communication skills. While having lots of fun and making good friends our students are continually learning important life skills!!
