TERM 4 IS UNDERWAY!!!

Yes that's right! Tomorrow 8 October marks the beginning of our fourth term!

Welcome back to all our wonderful parents and awesome students! This is going to be a very exciting term of productions: The Grasshopper and the Ants, Tray Chic and Fancy That by the Lower and Upper Primary classes, and our pantomime Cinderella in Africa performed by our Youth Theatre classes. This is a short action-packed term and we have much to accomplish in a very short space of time.  It also affords all our young actors and actresses an opportunity to demonstrate their creative talents in a public arena.
The 10 and 11 November see some of our studios performing their plays at the Centurion Theatre in Lyttleton.

We can't wait - this is the teachers favourite term as we get to see our Super Stars on Stage!
We hope to see everyone in class this week and every week until the end of term!
Remember even when you are studying for exams you need to take worthwhile breaks and exercise your brains with fresh air and drama!!!

Let's take a trip down memory lane....who remembers these fantastic students in their plays from 2011....

Congratulations to one of our Annlin Super Stars!!

She is only 10 years old and yet last week this lucky and very talented young girl spent the whole of last week on a movie set :-)
Mannequin Films have just finished filming the short film, The Drum. Tshiamo, one of our Helen O' Grady Drama Academy Students who is also a member of our casting agency, Aardvark Casting, was cast as,Norma, the lead role!!!
Norma is a lonely and neglected little girl. She has a quiet but tough demeanour, and the street smarts that have helped her survive without any friends or family. Yet she is an innocent child, and subconsciously longs for a way to express herself, and a friend who will validate her existence.
The Production Manager said that Tshiamo was fantastic both on and off set!
Tshiamo got to play alongside another one of our Aardvarkers, Lucky Nombula.

Lucky played the other main character in the story,Thabo, who  is a friendly drifter and travelling musician, telling stories through the rhythmic beats of his goatskin drum. During our story, he forms a special friendship with a lonely girl, in whom he discovers a kindred spirit.
It is such a wonderful story written by Kecia Romiel and we look forward to seeing the final edit!

It's 'Bring a Prop' for all our Lower Primary classes this week!

This week the students from our independent studios have been asked to bring props relating to 'elderly' people - eg: shawls, glasses and walking sticks.
We have had so much fun teaching the children to use props and it is wonderful how much dress up and props enhance the performance!
