Sagewood Upper Primary rehearsing for Parent Day


Our grade 3&4's from Sagewood School are getting ready to perform The Camp Out at our Parent Presentation on Friday 19 June. 
This wonderful improvisation gives students a platform to practise their acting and ad-libbing skills!

Principal's Seminar - East London - a great success!

This weekend Principals from all over South Africa and Africa gathered in East London for our annual mid year conference. It is wonderful to catch up with everyone and find out what is happening in the different areas!
We also went through our upcoming curriculum which is always exciting !

WIERDA PARK YOUTH THEATRE ARE THE BEST!!



Every Friday evening this group of dynamic teenagers meet in Wierda Park for a funfilled hour of drama! Creativity and communication is the name of the game!

TALENT AT OUR LYTTELTON STUDIO!

Juliet Jordaan, principal of Helen O Grady Drama Academy in Midrand and Pretoria had the pleasure of teaching the Lyttelton studio a few Saturdays ago! They are such a wonderful group of students with talent oozing out of them!
Some of them wore our special drama tshirts which looked really super!

GAUTENG HELEN O GRADY DRAMA ACADEMY PRINCIPALS JOINT TRAINING SESSION

Last week, principals of the Gauteng region - Anita Hollis (JHB North East), Kerry Holbrook (JHB North West) and Juliet Jordaan (PTA and Midrand) had a joint training session. They shared their expertise with new and old teachers alike and workshopped the 2011 curriculum!

WIERDA PARK WOWED AUDIENCES WITH THEIR WONDERFUL PERFORMANCES AT THE CENTURION THEATRE!




This group of young actors ranging in age from 5-8yrs have strong clear voices! They really showed their parents how successful our programme is as they acted with confidence and showed off their oral communication skills!




Our Wierda Park Upper Primary are a very creative and talented bunch of students! They are dedicated and enthusiastic and their teacher Larisa really enjoys teaching them on Friday afternoons!








Our Youth Theatre from Wierda Park ages 13yrs+ ended off our show with their fantastic play called The Kidnapping of Kitty O Hara!
The costumes and the decor added to their performance making it world class!

The Jacarandas are out in full bloom! The streets of Pretoria are looking gorgeous! The children are full of excitement for their upcoming plays and life is simply marvellous!!!

TERM 2 HAS BEGUN!!

We have almost reached the end of the first week of term!! It has been great to see all the students again :-)
The Upper Primary classes are very excited about the upcoming Parent Day Presentations and are looking forward to working on the different pieces!!

A the end of the second term we invite parents, teachers and friends to come and watch a cross section of work that we have covered over the year! It is a great opportunity for the children to showcase their talents!!

REHEARSALS FOR YEAR END PRODUCTIONS - BROOKLYN UPPER PRIMARY


We have some very talented actors in our Upper Primary group - they attend weekly Drama lessons at the Greek Church in Brooklyn every Tuesday afternoon from 4pm - 5pm.

They are busy rehearsing for their wonderful pirate play called 'The Bold Buccaneers'. They play the role of terrifying pirates who come across two very scared sailors - what might happen to them? Will they be made to walk the plank or does the Pirate Captain have other plans for them?

FAERIE GLEN LOWER PRIMARY


The students at our Faerie Glen studio, which takes place on Monday afternoons at the NG Church on Glenwood Road, have just started rehearsing for their end of year production! Many of them have joined our Casting Agency - Aardvark Casting!
