Sagewood Kindy Drama Classes playing with emotions

Today teacher Katryn brought faces with different emotions...the kindy kids had such fun acting out the different emotions and telling us why they feel sad / happy / angry etc.

Our drama classes create a wonderful platform for children to explore different emotions and express themselves through the spoken word. 

We run our drama classes at Sagewood School every Friday - we start with the Kindy kids ages 3-6yrs then we move onto the lower primary for ages 8-9yrs.

After that we work with the very creative upper primary for ages 10-12yrs and we end of with the amazing youth theatre 13-16yrs...

On Friday we finished our theme all about Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales! After their speech warm ups they had fun doing a Movement Story and an improvisation called The Storybook! 

Next week they will discover a new theme!!

Sagewood Upper Primary rehearsing for Parent Day

Our grade 3&4's from Sagewood School are getting ready to perform The Camp Out at our Parent Presentation on Friday 19 June. 

This wonderful improvisation gives students a platform to practise their acting and ad-libbing skills!

Sagewood Gr 1 & 2's busy with their Mime to Music

Every 3rd week in our curriculum we perform a Mime to Music! This is one of the students favourite activities and it teaches them some great skills! They learn control, team work and how to express themselves without the use of voice!!

Many schools realise the importance of Drama in Education and Sagewood is one of those schools! They allow Helen O'Grady Drama academy to teach their students every Friday afternoon!!

Sagewood Mid Year Parent Presentation

Parents and friends enjoyed a wonderful evening of drama as students from grade 1-7 demonstrated different parts of the curriculum. 

From speech and movement to improvisation and mini scripts our students peformed wonderfully and enjoy ed having a platform to show off their drama skills!

Helen O'Grady Drama Academy runs drama classes at Sagewood School on Friday afternoon for grades 00 - 7.

Students all received certificates and those that have completed 100 lessons received their 100 lesson trophies!
