The cold weather could not keep these little Super Stars away from the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy on Saturday!

We had lots of fun exploring movement. Using music we worked on acceleration and deceleration as well as working with partners to create different shapes and levels.

Midstream Lower Primary exploring Movement

Every week in our Drama classes we cover mime and  movement. This is a very important part of the curriculum because non verbal communication is just as important as verbal communication. This is also a platform where children can use their bodies in different ways. 

Our Midstream classes take place every Wednesday at Kerk Sonder Mure 23 Mount Quarrry Rd, Midstream.

HOLIDAY WORKSHOP - MIME AND STAGE COMBAT 2 - 4 JULY Ages 10-18

We are running a very exciting Holiday Workshop – aimed at ages 10-18 years from 

 Tuesday 2 July - Thursday 4 July

 

Venue:  Greek Church, Roper Road, Brooklyn Pretoria.

Time:    9am – 12pm

 

Cost:      R800.00

 

The workshop will concentrate on mime, stage combat and acting techniques.

We have an expert in the field of Mime and Stage Combat– Henco Jacobs - who will be taking the students on a journey through mime and stage combat.

Our Vice Principal Larisa Grove will be facilitating the workshop and working on acting techniques and theatre skills

 

We are only accepting a maximum of 20 students – please let me know if you would like to book a place!

THE SAGEWOOD STARS!

Our students from Sagewood School had a wonderful time as their teacher Chene took them through some exercises to develop their confidence and acting ability. The main part of the lesson revolved around a Mime to Music called The Hunt. The students used their bodies and faces expressively to translate the message of the piece. Our wonderful teacher,Chene always develops so much creativity in all the children.

SADDLEBROOK ESTATE GO ON SAFARI!!

The children from our studio in Saddlebrook Estate had so much fun doing their play called Going on Safari. Some of the students had just been to the Kruger and other game lodges and so they could really relate to the topic!
