WATCH OUT FOR THESE FOUR FAMOUS FACES!!

Although our programme is about developing confidence, self-esteem and communication skills, the very nature of this performance arts course catapults many of our students into the film industry.

Auditions for a short film took place on Saturday in Centurion and Pianojproductions chose four of our  talented students!

These four very talented actors all attend the Helen O Grady Drama Academy in Pretoria (three from our Brooklyn Studio and one from our Faerie Glen studio)! They also belong to our Casting Agency, Aardvark Casting. They have been selected to play the four main characters in the upcoming short film All's Fair by Jon Broeke. The play concentrates on the relationships between girls and boys!

We would like to wish them all the best as they embark on this exciting adventure....Lights! Camera! Action!

Helen O Grady Pretoria is moving and shaking....

New Studio OPEN in Annlin at Die Meelvloer on Wednesdays!!

 After months of looking for a suitable venue and marketing at the local schools we are so happy that we have OPENED in ANNLIN! Our studio is located just behind Wonderboom Junction at Die Meelvloer....We run classes every Wednesday during the school term.

 Our first new arrivals aged 5 - 8yrs arrived at 3pm. WE were so surprised at how talented this group was!

 We did speech work....and worked on jaw exercises...

 We taught a poem to the children and they learnt it so quickly...so clever!

 We did snippets....the imagination was fantastic!

 We made friends!

 When the students left the class they were brimming with enthusiasm and excitement!!

 We worked on different emotions!

Our Upper Primary arrived at 4pm. This group suits ages 9-12yrs. What special students we taught :)

 We did movement and worked together....

 We performed a mini script to perfection...

This made us very HAPPY!

Our last group to arrive were our Youth Theatre for ages 13+
We are so lucky to have an 'old' Helen O Grady student from Mossel Bay who has moved up to PTA joining us! As well as a very talented teen!

Lots of theatre games, acting and general getting to know each other made for a perfect first lesson!!

Larisa is looking forward to seeing you all next Wednesday for another funfilled class :-)

ADULT CLASSES IN BROOKLYN!

We are very excited to have launched our Adult classes in Brooklyn on Tuesday evenings from 6.15pm -7.15pm!

Larisa, who studied at TUT and vast experience on stage as well as film is the perfect facilitator for this group and they during their first lesson they thrived under her expert direction!

Concentration was needed...

laughter was plentiful...

Emotions were felt...

Stars were born!!!!!!

Drama classes are so much fun with our wonderful teacher Larisa!

Even though it was a long weekend - we still had a great turn out for drama on Saturday! These kids love their classes and look forward to Saturdays!
