Amazing creativity at our Annlin studio today!

Today our Upper Primary was divided into groups of 3. They were given a prop and a starter line. Each group performed an amazing improvisation incorporating characterization and  plot development.

Our Annlin classes take place every Wednesday at Victory Life Church, 83 Rosemary road.

Faerie Glen Youth Theatre exploring mini scripts

Our Faerie Glen youth theatre for ages 13-18 are happy to be back at DRAMA!

Today they are busy working on mini scripts! 

Mini scripts help develop team work, characterization and of course memory and oral speaking skills!

2015 Drama Classes underway!

Drama Classes across Gauteng started on Monday 19 January!

We had a busy yet fun filled week! It is always to wonderful to see all our old students back and of course we have loved meeting our new students who have joined the Academy for the first time!

We are looking forward to an exciting first term!

THEATRE EXPERIENCE WEEK OFFICIALLY STARTS MONDAY 17 NOVEMBER!

Dear Parents

For the first time at Helen O'Grady Drama Academy Pretoria we are having a Theatre Experience Week!

                                            What does this mean?

Instead of going to your normal studio for your dress rehearsal - you will be going to the Masker Theatre at Tukkies!
This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to get the feel of a real theatre and for those planning on studying at Tukkies it is an opportunity to visit the campus!

Students are to arrive in FULL COSTUME with MAKE UP! If the Academy is providing make up / costume please arrive 15 minutes earlier than scheduled!

Photo Shoot - every student will have their photos taken and there will be a CLASS photo!! The photos will be on sale on the day of the show. A5 photos - 1 x  INDIVIDUAL 1 X CLASS = R60.00

It was impossible for some studios to  have their lessons at the Theatre - they will have their have Theatre Experience just before they perform on the weekend! Drumming fun at Lindo Park Primary today

Today the drama students at Lindo Park were treated to a very special lesson with Calabash - our expert drummer among other things!

Our play for Gr 1-3's called How the Lion got its roar has an African feel and bringing in drums adds a really authentic feel to it

Start of term 4 tomorrow!!

Monday 13 October sees the beginning of our fourth term - Production Term!

This term we take all the techniques we have been learning throughout the year and put it into a short scripted piece that we perform in the Masker Theatre at Pretoria University on the 21,22 and 23 November.
