Some of our Lower primary students dressed up for their Mime to Music called How Clumsy! They looked wonderful and they performed their piece with lots of energy and enthusiasm! 

We run classes every Thursday from 2.00-3.00pm at Irene Primary school for ages 5-9yrs. 

The Upper Primary class for ages 9-12 attend from 3.00-4.00pm.

Irene Primary students performances were spectacular

It was a cold Thursday evening but still the Drama students at our Irene Primary studio were well supported by friends and family! The Lower Primary had so much confidence as they demonstrated their speech exercises and performed poems, a mime to music and an improvisation called Storybook Adventure!
Many of our Upper Primary have been with Helen O Grady Drama Academy for many years and it showed in their wonderful performances!

Children who attend drama classes are naturally more inclined to be confident, have high self-esteem and are able to communicate better. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy runs drama classes for schools throughout the World and has a large following in South Africa. Our Upper Primary (grades 4-7) are preparing for their play "Fancy That" which they will perform at the Centurion Theatre in November. From the looks of their rehearsal we think this play will be SPECTACULAR!!!

DRAMA MAKES US SMILE

At the Helen O' Grady Drama Academy in Midstream we make learning fun!! Many of our students attend our drama classes to boost their English Speaking Skills! They do so in a relaxed and fun manner under the expert tuition of their teacher Chene!
We believe that involving our students fully  in the lesson and motivating them they will learn so much and never forget what they have learnt! As the famous saying goes:-
 "Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand"

Drama Classes in Midlands Growing steadily

After many requests the Helen O' Grady Drama Academy opened in Midlands last month. The Helen O' Grady Drama Academy has been operating in South Africa for more than 10 years and in 2009 Juliet Jordaan opened a branch in Pretoria. There are currently 10 studios operating in Midrand, Centurion and Pretoria and now the Midlands Studio makes 11!!

We have a wonderful mix of new and old students at our Midlands Studio. This week they were asked to dress up - 'Disco Stye' for their improv which was fabulous!

Our telephone conversations were so much fun...students brought in old cell phones and telephones as props which added to the authenticity of the conversation.

New Studio Opening close to Midstream Estate

We are very excited to announce that from the beginning of term 3  we will be running our award winning Drama Classes at the NG Gemeente Church (Kerk Sonder Mure) on Wednesday afternoons.
3 separate age groups: 5-8yrs, 9-12yrs and 13-18yrs.

It is so lovely to see friendships forming in our drama classes! Our classes at Irene Primary are open to students from the surrounding schools in the area - such as Cornwall Hill, Doringkloof Primary, South Downs and of course we welcome Homeschooled children as well :-)
