This term our Youth Theatre Drama classes for ages 13-18 explore educational and physical theatre. They will also be workshopping a wonderful script that deals with life's truths and different social prejudices.
This performance along with many others will be showcased at the Centurion Theatre on the 9,10 and 11 November 2013.
All our drama studios across Midrand (Sagewood, Beaulieu, Midlands), Centurion (Erasmia, Wierda Park, Irene, Lyttelton, Midstream) and Pretoria (Brooklyn, Faerie Glen, Annlin) will be taking part in our Year End Production - lights, camera, ACTION!!

Annlin Youth Theatre live up to the Physical Theatre Challenge

Every year we like to expose our Youth Theatre  (teenagers 13-18) to different forms of theatre. This year we are challenging them with a Physical theatre piece. Physical Theatre is a genre of theatrical performance that pursues storytelling through primarily physical means. 

Our enthusiastic and talented performers are really enjoying this form of drama and discovering how important the body is to convey an idea or meaning.

As part of our curriculum we work on prop snippets! It is wonderful to see students using their creativity and oral communication skills to develop such interesting plays! Our upper primary for ages 9-12 attend classes in Annlin on Wednesday afternoons from 4-5pm.

We also have classes for ages 5-8 and 13-18.

Physical and Educational theatre form part of our dynamic curriculum

Our Youth Theatre classes for ages 13-18 are busy working on an exciting physical and educational theatre piece that they will be performing at our end of year show! This particular piece was written by our Cape Town principal and it deals with all forms of discrimination - not only found in South Africa but worldwide!

The students are loving the freedom of coming up with their own ideas and although we have only just started we have seen some amazing things from our awesome youth theatre groups!

Midlands Lower Primary Clowning around!

There was so much excitement at class on Wednesday as students had their faces painted and dressed up for their play called The Sad Clown!

Brooklyn Upper Primary full of excitement!

We have started rehearsals for our end of year production! Our Upper Primary really enjoyed discussing their play and started blocking the first scene!

The play starts in a little town called Abilene and everyone is very bored....

The Circus has Come to Town

This week our Brooklyn Lower Primary had so much fun performing their Circus play!

Our youngest doubles from the Hollywood movie shot at Sun City!

Two of our youngest members of Aardvark Casting Agency were chosen to be the doubles in the latest Adam Sandler/ Drew Barrymore movie that was recently shot at Sun City.

The two girls enjoyed relaxing at the Palace and being treated like stars!

Midlands Composite class go to the extreme!

When we asked our wonderful Midlands group of 10-17 year old to dress up for their mini scripts - we had NO idea the lengths they would go to!!

This class has so much enthusiasm and it definitely comes out in their performances!
