The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy was started by Helen O' Grady in August 1979 in Perth Australia. Thirty years later the Academy has over 50 000,00 students attending classes each week across the globe! Using an international curriculum the Academy aims to develop confidence, self esteem, communication and performance skills. Irene Lower Primary aboard a cruise shop
Some of our Lower primary students dressed up for their Mime to Music called How Clumsy! They looked wonderful and they performed their piece with lots of energy and enthusiasm!
We run classes every Thursday from 2.00-3.00pm at Irene Primary school for ages 5-9yrs.
The Upper Primary class for ages 9-12 attend from 3.00-4.00pm.

Our Upper Primary at our Brooklyn Studio are brilliant at dressing up and bringing props to class!
They had so much fun with their play set in an ice cream factory!

Earth Kids have fun at DRAMA!
The children are loving their drama classes with the lovely Sharlien! She has been exploring the themes All About Me and Let's Go to Work!
Our programme focuses on developing good speech habits and developing confidence!
Dress up ideas for week 24 Feb - 1 March
This week we are exploring another Mime to music. This time it takes place aboard a luxury liner. We waiters and ships crew as well as our smart guests! They are attending a cocktail evening - students can dress up smart in evening dresses bow ties etc!
Props - trays, captains hat, feather boas, jewellery and high heels!

Dress Up ideas for week 17-22 February
Wow we have had some incredible outfits this past week! Well done students and parents!
This week the Lower Primary are doing a play set in Arabia... Think Jasmine and Aladdin...colorful clothes scarves and jewellery!
This week our Upper Primary are doing a play set in an ice cream factory...bring along hard hats, coats, gloves, hairnets, boots!
Please Note: there is no dress up for the Beaulieu studio this week. There are classes on Tuesday but no classes on Saturday morning at Beaulieu due to half term.

Vicky visits from our head office in PE
Vicky Stroud is our franchisor and she runs her own Academy in Port Elizabeth. First she visited our classes that we run at Nizamiye School and then she joined

Lower Primary (5-8yrs) please dress up as explorers or spiders!!
Upper Primary (9-12yrs) please dress up as Soccer supporters!!

Annlin Upper Primary acting like Cavemen
This week our dress up theme is Cavemen and women. Our students from Annlin performed their Mime to Music with gusto! Congrats to you all!!
Students in the upper primary are ages 9-12. They come from all the different schools in the area- Northridge Primary school and Laerskool Wonderboom for example. We also have many homeschooled children who attend drama to develop their confidence, skill in oral communication and social skills!

This week's dress up theme and Bring a Friend
This week Monday 3 - Saturday 8 February all students in Lower and Upper Primary are dressing up as Cavemen and Cave women!!
This can be very easy...messy hair, brown or animal print clothes and dirty faces!!
This is for our Mime to Music called 'No Meat'!
The students are going to have a lot of fun with this!
This week is also Bring a Friend Week!
This means that students can bring a friend (or 2!) along to drama for a free lesson!!
