Dealing with Upcoming Exam Stress

As September draws to a close, Parents and Students start worrying about the upcoming exam season!
For certain students (and parents) exams stress is real and it can cause unnecessary anxiety which often results in students not reaching their potential!

Our motto at Helen O' Grady Drama Academy is -

  • be prepared,
  • continue with your daily routine,
  • remember to BREATHE!

AND ....don't miss your weekly Drama lesson!

A realistic study schedule is a must! We believe the first things that should be added to the study schedule are the activities that you currently attend - usually these activities are stress relievers - so why would they be removed during your most stressful period?

Plan out your Schedule

  • Start with putting in your Drama /Dance /Music Classes
  • Then Sport and Gym - often schools cancel after school sports during exams - if this is the case make sure you create some exercise routine during exam time - take the dog for a walk, run around the garden or swim some lengths in the pool!
  • Then add realistic bite size study sessions

Remember that old saying 'if you want something done, ask a busy person' - well it has been scientifically proven - so be careful of freeing up too much time during your exam period! You may end up doing less than you thought!

Award-winning speaker and best-selling author, Nikki Bush, has some really good tips on how to study better - she also advocates keeping routine and exercise during exam time.

Remember to BREATHE!

Good luck everyone!
